Question by : Which is a better airline to fly with British Airways or Virgin Atlantic?
Me and my sister are flying from Houston,TX or Dallas,TX to London,UK ; next summer and we were wondering what the best airline was? We’ve narrowed it down to British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. We wanted to know which one was more comfortable and the best for long trips.

I’ve used both and Virgin was better by far.

I’ve been with both from London to Boston, so both long flights (not quite as long as from Texas though :P ). We travelled in economy class both times.

Virgin Atlantic: They give you food. And lots of it. The staff are friendly, there is plenty of legroom, and the seats are comfortable. The aircraft was very clean.

British Airways: They starve you. They give you a meal or two, and if you’re lucky, they might throw in a snack half way through for which they charge you. My seatback TV did not work. The seats were uncomfortable. There was good legroom and the staff were friendly, but poor service overall.

In my opinion, definately go with Virgin Atlantic. Although they might be slightly more expensive, they are a much better airline and provide fantastic service. Have a good time here in the UK!

BA is the best as Virgin do not serve either Houston or Dallas. To be fair, BA operate a direct flight from Dallas Fort Worth to London Heathrow. If you want to fly from Houston, you have to take an American Airlines flight to Dallas and then pick up the BA flight from there.

When it comes down to seat pitch in economy, both BA and Virgin have a 31″ pitch. Here’s a couple of reviews of economy travel with both, although it’s a bit academic as Virgin don’t fly from Texas.
